This song had really capture my heart and it’s making my moments alone with the Lord xD I prefer this Jesus Culture version instead of the Lifehouse original one. Hope it blesses your time with the Lord too.

Christmas - there’s nothing “christian” in it

So while everybody is getting ready for their christmas dinner, all I can think about is how unaware people are from what they are doing.Most people know that Yeshua/Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th, but they join the christmas celebration because they think it’s good to celebrate their saviour born and to get the family together and so many things.So just to start, I am sure that if your friends wished you happy birthday in the wrong date every year and with a couple months of difference you wouldn’t like, and we think we can do that to Yeshua.

December 25th is still winter in Israel and it gets cold, so cold that it can snow.During this time shepherds wouldn’t be out in pastures with their sheep and in the night. Yeshua would have to be born during the Feast of Tabernacles [sukkot] to fulfill its prophetic meaning: God living among us. And that would be around September.Zechariah, father of John, the Baptist, was ministering in the temple when the angel told him he was going to have John. Zechariah is from the priestly division of Abijah, which is the 8th one {Luke 1:5-11; 1 Chronicles 24:10}.There was 24 priestly divisions and which worked for 1 week, two times a year. They started working in the first month of the year, Aviv or Nissan, the month of the Pessach/Passover and during the feasts of the Lord all of the them should work together. So the priestly division of Abijah was around the Iyar 27 and Sivan 5 [June 1st - June 8th] and since Zechariah had to stay one more week due to the Festival of Weeks (Shavuot).So, after the angel’s message, his wife conceived John around the middle of June. And Yeshua was conceived 6 months later arround the month of december. So 9 months after, makes the birth of Yeshua in September which matches the Feast of Tabernacles [sukkot] time, which is the correct match!

Second, let’s start with the big deal, why nobody wonder that December 25th was chosen as the day of the celebration of Jesus/Yeshua birth. I will explain it. After Yeshua died, his disciples started their ministries and the good news of the new covenant the Lord made through his only Son and whoever wanna be in a covenant with Him started to spread out.Around the III,IV centuries lots of people was already in this new covenant and this wasn’t good for the Roman Empire, because they wouldn’t worship the emperor as a god and consequently wouldn’t obey no matter what it is to them. So this empire started to persecute whoever was in this covenant and killed a lot of them.Lots of them were killed in arenas like the Colliseum by gladiators or lions. But on the IV century the number of people following Yeshua and the Scriptures were so great that the roman emperors realized they couldn’t fight it. So Constantine I in 325 apparently become one those people so long persecuted by the empire and before that in 313 he developed the Edict of Milan, that allowed the followers of Yeshua to follow their faith and giving them freedom. In 380, another emperor, Theodosius I established that “Christianism” would be the official religion of the Roman Empire.

The Roman Empire in all those years started to distort the aspect of the Scriptures and created this new religion called “christianism” and it’s own church the Roman Apostolic Catholic Church. And to please the romans, the “christianism” would have the same stuff they were already used to worship, but in “disguised” ways.In the roman religion the sun was the main god that was worshipped. And that’s were christmas enters. December 25th was the celebration of the birth of the sun, the god Mithras, the celebration of the winter’s solstice.This would coincide with the dates of the festival called Saturnalia, in honor of the god Saturn, celebrated with sex and lots of alcohol and where it was common to exchange gifts. So the exchange of gifts comes from there not from the Maggi that visited Yeshua. They gave gifts from Yeshua because when someone went to see the king, this person must bring a gift with him, it wasn’t good to present yourself before the king empty-handed.

And what about the christmas tree? That is a very old costume. The worship of other gods using tree was a common practice that was usual since the babylonians. And Jeremiah 10:1-3 warn about this practice for the people of Israel: “Hear what the LORD says to you, people of Israel. 2 This is what the LORD says:    “Do not learn the ways of the nations
   or be terrified by signs in the heavens,
   though the nations are terrified by them.
3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
   they cut a tree out of the forest,
   and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4 They adorn it with silver and gold;
   they fasten it with hammer and nails
   so it will not totter”

For me this is clearly speaking about trees like the christmas ones.

You can see that, there’s nothing new in the schemes of the devil to deceive people. Christmas was always about the celebration of the Sun. Rome, of course, mixed it’s gentile traditions to this new religion created by them called cristianism, so that they would never leave their old practices and so that the devil would have another tool do deceive people and distort the Scriptures. The truth is what the Scriptures tells, and they tell is that we shouldn’t do as the gentiles, the people who don’t have a covenant with the Lord [goyim in hebrew] in the same text of Jeremiah, verse 2; in Leviticus 20:23 and in Ephesian 4:17. You can celebrate this day thinking that it’s okay and that you’re not celebrating the sun or Mithras, but you’re doing that for Yeshua/Jesus. The problem is that in the spiritual realms nothing changed and in it where there isn’t past and present well defined you are still doing the same practices of the roman gentiles and the meaning is still the same. It’s the same thing of offering a sacrifice to another god in front of its statue and with the same sayings and saying that it’s for Yeshua.

If we should walk like Yeshua walked [1 John 2:6], we shouldn’t be joining this celebration, because I am pretty sure that He didn’t and He didn’t tell us to celebrate His birth, so it’s your decision: will you follow Rome or will you follow Yeshua and the Scriptures that com from Zion?
